Harry H. Orenstein, M.D.

Dr. Orenstein is assistant professor of surgery and co-director of the Plastic Surgery Hand Fellowship Program, Department of Plastic Surgery at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

He received his undergraduate education at Harvard College and attended the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.

After a general surgery residency at New York University - Bellevue Hospital Center, he received his plastic surgical training at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Upon completion of his plastic surgery residency, he completed a six-month fellowship as a Boyes' Hand Fellow in Los Angeles and a six-month hand fellowship in the Orthopaedic Department at the Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Orenstein is a member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, Texas Surgical Society, and other regional societies. He is a chairman of the Hand and Extremities Subcommittee of the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation In-Service Examination Committee, the Curriculum Committee of the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation, and editor of the Hand Surgery Section of Selected Reading in Plastic Surgery, a supplement to the teaching curriculum of many plastic surgery training programs in the United States and overseas.

Dr. Orenstein's clinical and research interests are primarily in the area of hand surgery. genital vascular anomalies, breast and cosmetic surgery, microvascular and laser surgery.
